Room Types

Gelatenheid (Equanimity) is the largest (220 square metre) guesthouse – a double storey just for two. The en-suite loft bedroom with king size bed, dressing and living room area opens onto an upstairs verandah with special views over the mountains and vineyards. There is a romantic bath under the trees with a heated towel rail. Downstairs there is a kitchen and a dining area overlooking a large pool and private garden.

Oortuiging (Conviction) is our 1860’s luxury cottage nestled under a giant white stinkwood tree. It has two en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen and a dining room. It has its own pool and private shade and sun gardens. Oortuiging can sleep three but takes two in spacious luxury.

Vreugde (Joy) sleeps two in a king-size bed or, if previously requested, in twin three-quarter beds. The bath and shower are separate, there is a small kitchenette and French doors open onto a wide veranda with beautiful garden and private pool. One can lounge on the leather sofa on the porch listening to the birds and the singing of the fountain. This is a very intimate private place.

Uitsig (View) sleeps two in a king-size bed or, if previously requested, in twin three-quarter beds. The bath and shower are separate and French doors open onto a sun-baked balcony with a lovely view of the mountains. This private, upstairs suite is wonderfully comfortable. Uitsig shares a large heated pool and garden with Twyfeling.

Twyfeling (Doubting) is a gracious Cape Dutch style house with large living rooms and two large bedroom suites both of which sleep two in a king-size bed or, if previously requested, in twin three-quarter beds. Twyfeling shares a large heated pool and garden with Uitsig.

Outstanding in every way

From the moment Hazel opened the door to greet us we knew that this stay was going to be very special. Our small secluded cottage, Vreugde, was delightful in every way. The main house is elegantly decorated and breakfast ample and impeccably presented. Undoubtedly the best guest house we have ever stayed in. Congratulations. If we ever get the chance to return to South Africa, we’ll be back!

Very quiet and peaceful, yet extremely convenient. There were some very good extas in our room such as CDs anda well stocked fride etc but it was a little cramped. Breakfast was very good and the staff excellent but we did think it was expensive.

What a great place, the staff and owners were wonderful and booked us some great places to eat. Our room was fantastic, everything you could possibly need and free laundry service. We will return!

The hotel was outstanding in every way – the attention to detail was meticulous. Food and service were excellent and the staff were friendly and knowledgable from the cleaning lady to the owner.
