Facilities & Services

• Swimming directly off the beach all year round
• Activities available (and all inclusive) include walking, snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking, fly-fishing and scuba diving (if in possession of a valid diving certificate – maximum 2 dives per day).
• A variety of diving courses and deep-sea fishing is available at an additional charge. All scuba and snorkelling equipment is provided.
• Only protected nesting site for green turtles in Zanzibar.
• There is a small library with a selection of books, games and magazines.
• Guest areas are all open-sided, cooled by sea breezes, informal and relaxed.

Bars & Restaurants

• The dining area is adjacent to the sitting room/bar.
• Fresh fish and seafood is served at lunch and dinner and weather permitting, dinner is always served on the beach.

Overview

Children under 16 years are welcome on the island, though the number of triples at any one time is limited.

Babysitting & Supervised Activities

Childminding is available at an additional cost.

Room Types

Ten Zanzibari bandas, with direct access to the beach. Each banda is built of indigenous materials, mostly woven and thatched with palm leaves. The bandas have ensuite bathrooms with shower, double-basins, separate w.c., fresh water (obtained from a desalination plant), ceiling fans, mosquito net, hair dryer, personal bar and a spacious outdoor veranda. Each banda also has a private beach sala with traditional Zanzibari sunbeds.

Family

An extra bed can be arranged for a child 16 years and younger sharing its parents’ banda. No more than 1 triple at any one time.

Rates

The rates start at £1,126 per person which includes accommodation, 3 meals daily, all soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas & coffees, laundry, and watersports include 2 scuba dives a day (for guests holding a PADI certificate only), snorkelling, kayaking, flyfishing, sundowner dhow cruise and wind surfing. (valid in 2012)

Family

• Children under 6 stay free of charge.
• 1 adult and 1 child sharing: Adult sharing rate plus single supplement and 50% for the child 6 years and over.
• 1 adult and 2 children: Adult sharing rate and 50% for each child 6 years and over.

Please note that Mnemba Island Lodge is closed annually from 01 April to 31 May.
