North West Safari
Accommodation varies from very affordable at the ‘Bush Hotels’ in Pilanesburg, making safari accessible to all, to exceptionally luxurious at your own exclusive Lodge (complete with private chef and dedicated game drive vehicle!).
Lodges are generally more traditional in style, constructed with good use of wood and thatched roofs, nestled amongst the tree tops or along the riverbank.
Ants Nest and Ants Hill
Ant’s Nest and Ant’s Hill are unique ‘homes from home’, situated on private game reserves in the heart of the beautiful Waterberg region. The lodges can now be booked on a sharing or exclusive basis. However, whichever option you choose, your stay will be tailor-made to your needs.
Bakubung & Kwa Maritane Lodges
The sister properties, situated in this spectacular National Park close to Sun City, offer comfortable rooms, good game viewing and a range of leisure facilities all for a reasonable rate (children under 18 share free), forming an ideal option for those seeking an introduction to safari.
Jaci's Safari & Tree Lodges
Rooms at Safari Lodge, built around an ancient termite mound, incorporate stone, shaggy thatched roofs and canvas walls, whereas Tree Lodge has stilted suites in the forest canopy. The Nare Suite has 3 bedrooms and use of a private safari vehicle and all are fenced together, along the riverbank.
Madikwe Safari Lodge
The lodge sits on a gentle slope overlooking game-filled plains of Madikwe with a Mountain backdrop. It consists of three exclusive, intimate camps incorporating just 16 spacious suites all with French doors opening on to wooden decking leading to private plunge pools and expansive views.
Madikwe Hills
For the ultimate, malaria-free safari experience, catering to the needs of even the most discerning traveller, we highly recommend Madikwe Hills. The Presidential Suite, Little Madikwe, also offers several bedrooms and private facilities including game drive vehicle and personal chef.
